Malmaison hotels have received the green light to start the developments of a former office block in the centre of York to be transformed into a 160-bedroom hotel.
The planning permissions have been granted by the York City Council to transform the Yorkshire House on Rougier Street, once the home of the Aviva insurance company.
This new hotel will be the 16th property for Malmaison within the UK and will join sites in other major cities such as London, Glasgow, Manchester and many others.
The development work of the building is expected to start later this year and once opened as a hotel, is predicted to create 120 jobs.
