Brewhouse & Kitchen acquires 23rd pub in Worthing

Brewhouse & Kitchen, Britain’s largest Brewpub chain, has acquired Beechwood Hall in Worthing, through Fleurets. Marking Brewhouse and Kitchen’s 23rd site, the property will now undergo a comprehensive refurbishment.

Brewhouse & Kitchen’s existing brewpubs are located across England and Wales. Earlier this year, in May, Brewhouse & Kitchen also acquired their Horsham site, which was also sold by Fleurets, and opened in September.

The Worthing transaction was brokered by Nick Earee of Fleurets, who commented, “Beechwood Hall, situated on Wykeham Road in Worthing previously traded as a hotel, restaurant and bar; offering 8 en suite letting bedrooms as well as a bar/restaurant with 80 covers and also a breakfast/meeting room.”

The substantial property was built in 1829 by the architect Amon Henry Wildes of Brighton, and the property is known as Swiss Cottage locally. In 1931, the building was converted into a hotel with 23 bedrooms.

Fleurets marketed the property’s freehold off a guide price of £750k+VAT, the sale price is undisclosed. Managing Director Simon Bunn commented, “Brewhouse and Kitchen, would like to thank Nick Earee of Fleurets who has supported the sale to B&K.’
